10th Assembly: Delta Ijaw Youths Council endorse Akpabio for Senate President
….says he is the right man for the job
The Delta Ijaw Youths across the country on Saturday, endorsed former Akwa Ibom State Governor and former Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio for the Office of Senate President.
This was contained in a statement by the group’s national President, Comrade Francis Clement Botuboh.
Comrade Francis while speaking on behalf of the group noted that “Senator Godswill Akpabio is indeed a man of integrity and capacity. He is a man that has grown through the ranks of politics. He is a loyal member of his party, the APC and he is one son of the South that stood strongly behind President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the ups and downs of the 2023 politics. Beyond the fact that he is a loyal member of his party, it is a fact that he is a credible and capable hand that will deliver meritoriously well when elected as President of the 10th Senate.”
“It is only just and fair that he emerges President of the Senate. He is the right man for the job. He has over the years gathered experience needed to lead the Senate, having served as a Governor, Minister, Senator and leader in the Senate. He is the most experienced and yet most loyal and most productive Southerner in the race. We strongly support him because Ijaw-land and the Niger Delta experienced lots of improvement in his time as Niger Delta Affairs Minister. His remarkable good works during his time as Governor of Akwa Ibom State are still there speaking good of him till date,” Comrade Francis further said.
“To have a Presidency that will be free-flowing and progressive, Akpabio is the best man to lead the Senate. In the days ahead we will be leading a campaign for him across Ijaw-land to our Ijaw Senators-elect, across the South-South to all Senator-elects across the South-South, across the South to all Senator-elects across the South and to all Senator-elects across the country as we drum support for Senator Godswill Akpabio,” Comrade Francis further said.
