2023: We are ready to take over power from Buhari, says PDP

In 2023, the Peoples Democratic Party has stated its intention to depose the All Progressives Congress and President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was stated in a resolution passed by the PDP’s Board of Trustees at an emergency meeting on Thursday.
The PDP leaders said in a resolution signed by Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, that the party’s crisis will be resolved soon.

“The Board of Trustees meeting reviewed and addressed in depth, as it normally does from time to time, the situation of our Party, the PDP, nationwide,” according to the resolution.

This emergency meeting is especially relevant at this time of increased political and economic tension in the country, to ensure the stability of all of our party’s institutions and to put them on high alert and concentrate as we prepare to regain national political power in the best interests of our country.

“In this regard, the meeting applauded Senator Bukola Saraki’s ongoing work as chair of the Reconciliation and Strategy Committee.

“Last weekend, the meeting was briefed on the results of zonal congresses. Three of the six congresses have been completed successfully.

“In fulfilling its constitutional position as the party’s conscience, the Board of Trustees will work tirelessly to ensure that the highest standard of morality is upheld in all of the party’s operations, and that all members of our party live up to standards.

“As a result, the board is completely committed to not allowing any nefarious patterns or strains to clog the working relationship between all members of the party, especially at the top management level.

“With a commitment to do whatever possible to ensure that the PDP regains national power in 2023, the board is unequivocally committed to ensuring that normalcy and stability prevail in the party’s organs, allowing for the creation and execution of well-structured plans.

“In this regard, the Board of Trustees will ensure that all of the party’s institutions, especially the National Working Committee NWC, operate smoothly and without interruption in the run-up to a successful convention in December 2021.

“The Board of Trustees will also ensure that there are very harmonious ties between the party’s organs, and a comprehensive meeting between the BoT and the National Working Committee NWC is expected to take place soon in this regard.

“Finally, the Board is very appreciative of the commitment of our governors to the Party and the exemplary roles they have all been playing to keep the party at the optimum operational level.

The board will consult with the Governor’s forum on necessary measures towards solidifying the party.”
