On Thursday, the Delta Ijaw Youths Council restated its call on the 8th Delta State House of Assembly to elect Bomadi representative, Rt. Hon. Kenneth Oboro Preyo as its Speaker.
In a media statement, the Delta Ijaw Youths Council leader, Comrade Botuboh Clement Francis, said “Rt. Hon. Kenneth Oboro Preyo of Bomadi Local Government Area is the right man for the job of Speaker of the 8th Delta State House of Assembly.
“He is the most-experienced and most ranking among the Members-elect. The good works of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor-elect, in the Delta State House of Assembly, must continue and one lawmaker who can help ensure that, is Rt. Hon. Preyo.
“Rt. Hon. Preyo will as Speaker, ensure continued smooth relationship between the Delta State House of Assembly and the the Delta State Executives. As well, he will ensure the necessary checks on the Executive where and when the need arises,” Comrade Francis said.
“Rt. Hon. Preyo has the required leadership skill-set needed to lead the 8th Delta State House of Assembly.
“For equity and fairness, Bomadi Local Government Area is supposed to be given the Speakership position and good enough there is Rt. Hon. Preyo who is not just from Bomadi Local Government Area but also meets the needed requirements to be Speaker of Delta State, therefore Rt. Hon. Preyo is the best man for the job of Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly,” Comrade Francis further said.
