Benue State Chairman of the Membership Registration/Revalidation Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Muhammad Mashi, on Wednesday, expressed confidence that the party will return to power in the state by 2023.
He anchored his confidence on the successes so far recorded in the ongoing registration exercise.
Mashi spoke while announcing the arrival of a fresh batch of registration materials received from the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. According to him, the party has a strong footing in the state based on the number of persons who were trooping out daily to register.
He said, “The exercise which started on February 9, 2021 in the state was beautiful and so far, successful. And from the look of things, APC will take over the state in 2023.”
While giving a breakdown of the materials received, Mashi said over 268 cartons consisting of 14 party registers in each carton were exhausted in the first round of the exercise, stressing that between 300 and 400 people were registered in some of the 3,961 polling units across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
