Kogi PDP Congress: PDP scribe’s aide, Itopa, commends peaceful Congress in Okehi, salutes the courage of Hon. A.K Salihu

On Saturday, Comrade David Godwin Itopa, an aide to the PDP National Scribe, paid a courtesy visit to the good people of Okehi during the congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He commend the committee on the fairness and transparency of the ward congress “under the leadership of our political father Hon. A. K Saliu and the local government executives as well as all other okehi critical stakeholders.” he commended all the party stakeholders for their conduct at the congress.

David Itopa popularly known as History, during the visit, emphasized that the relevance of the youths to the development of any society is beyond contest. “It is the segment of the population that keeps all other segments of any society going. The engine room of any society is the youth demography,” he noted.

“Across time and space, no society has ever been created and achieved development without the glorious and heroic contributions of its youths. It now seems, as though, the invaluable roles of the youths in determining the political destiny of Nigerian politics, especially at the grassroots level are non-existent. he lamented the place of the youths in the scheme of things, saying “these roles have become deficient as a result of non-participation of youths.”

“They readily reflect the negative Nigerian political culture which include but not limited to electoral violence, the do-or-die political syndrome, and corruption of which the modern day Nigerian youths are constantly being integrated into in recent time,” David Itopa said.

While addressing the press, he advised his “fellow youths”, saying; “as the future of our beloved country, Nigeria, we must wake up to responsibilities and return to the grassroot while we continue to prepare ourselves for leadership roles.

Comrade David Godwin Itopa described the ward congress held at Hon. AK Saliu compound as one of the most peaceful and unifying congresses ever held in the history of Okehi LGA.
