Supporters of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday inaugurated the Ogun state chapter of the South-West Agenda for his Presidential aspiration otherwise called SWAGA’ 23 in Abeokuta, the State capital.
The keynotes speaker, a professor of law in the University of Lagos, Prof. Yemi Oke declared that the choice of Tinubu was as a result of his immense contributions to the development of the South-west and the nation in general.
Oke who recounted Tinubu’s achievements as the former Governor of Lagos State affirmed that there was no other Yoruba leader who could beat Asiwaju’s achievements in the South-West zone.
He said, “Nobody is talking about anybody in the party. The Yoruba have come together for one purpose and our message is loud and clear; in the next dispensation, we are clamouring for the emergence of a Yoruba man as the next President of this country.
“We have searched through all major Yoruba politicians, all are qualified, no doubt but, the best of them is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and that is what has brought us together.”
Also speaking, the National Chairman of SWAGA, Senator Dayo Adeyeye said the objective of the group was to ensure the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the country’s next President.
The Chairman of SWAGA in Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Obadara, said Tinubu “will speak out himself but for now his children are speaking for him.”
