Strategic Communications Director of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Chief Dele Momodu has on Thursday raised the alarm over increasing attacks on the campaign of the PDP.
He said that the party is currently gathering evidences of the attacks and wil submit a formal report to the security agencies in the soonest days ahead.
He made this statement at the PDP Presidential Campaign Office in Wuse in the course of a Press Conference.
“We in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are worried about the violent attacks on our campaign. First, it was Kaduna and yesterday, it was Borno.
“It is obvious that the other candidates are jittery, hence they are sponsoring thugs to attack our campaign. We will tender a formal report of the attacks to the police and to the peace committee,” he said.
Furthermore, he said “For PDP, this campaign season is one of carnival of ideas. Any party that can match PDP’s campaign strength, should dare to try catching up.”
Speaking on the reconciliation efforts within the party on the party of the party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Dele Momodu said; “Atiku is a man of peace. Atiku is a man that wants every member of PDP to stand with him. The PDP family will be back to being a united house again.”
Furthermore, he said; “Atiku is the most prepared and most experienced Presidential candidate.” He further decalred that Atiku will be the next President of Nigeria.
On what Atiku and the PDP campaign council are doing regarding the violent attacks on the PDP campaign, Dele Momodu said; “despite the violent attacks on our campaigns, we will not fight back. It is not within Atiku’s character to fight back.”
Speaking further about how the PDP intends to run a decent campaign, he said “we will not malign other canddiates for political reasons.”
Dele Momodu described Atiku as “somebody with good character who respects everyone including his superiors (special reference to the strife between Atiku and Obasanjo that lasted on the media space for many years).”
Responding to questions pertaining to the drug case of the Presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Dele Momodu said the legal unit of the PDP campaign is still studying the development and hence the PDP campaign would not make any hasty political conclusion yet.
